Vitala Global

Together with women, girls* & their communities (*committed to gender inclusivity), Vitala Global co-creates and implements open-access digital sexual and reproductive health (SRH) solutions. Vitala Global provides people with evidence-based digital platforms to support their safe abortion and family planning journeys.

Canada’s public foundation for gender equality. The Canadian Women’s Foundation is a national leader in the movement for gender equality in Canada. Through funding, research, advocacy, and knowledge sharing, they work to achieve systemic change. Supporting women, girls, and gender-diverse people to move out of violence, out of poverty, and into confidence and leadership.

Teen Healthy Relationship grants support community-based organizations working with young people of all genders to learn about dating violence, sexual assault, and how to build safe, healthy, and equal relationships.  Research shows that the teen years are a critical time to teach healthy relationships skills to reduce and prevent gender-based violence long-term. These grants are part of the Canadian Women’s Foundation strategy to break the cycle of violence in families and communities by investing in programs that prevent and intervene in situations of gender-based violence.

YWCA Toronto

YWCA Toronto is dedicated to improving the lives of women, girls and gender diverse people. They help women and girls flee violence, secure housing, find jobs, establish their voices, enhance skills and develop confidence. They offer a range of housing options, employment and training programs, community support programs, girls’ programs and family programs; they also engage in systemic advocacy.  As part of a national and international movement, the YWCA is a turning point in the lives of 25 million women and girls worldwide.

Here to Help is a free 12-week parenting program in south Scarborough for children 4-16 years of age and their mothers who have been exposed to abuse. They offer support to children and their mothers through the healing process.

Northern Birthwork Collective

The Northern Birthwork Collective is a team of reproductive justice advocates (including birthworkers, parents, and community members) who are committed to creating safer spaces, programming and services for pregnant people in the Northwest Territories.  They provide cost supported programming and services for all stages of the reproductive journey including conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, miscarriage, loss, abortion, and parenting. The Collective is focused on providing continuous education to members of their community and growing a territory wide network of birthworkers who are able to provide collective care that is grounded in the community’s values. With acknowledgement that colonization has had a great impact on women’s bodies and traditions, this organization believes that revitalizing traditional knowledge is a crucial step in collective healing.

Equality Fund

The Equality Fund, robustly resources women’s rights organizations and feminist movements worldwide by partnering with organizations, coalitions, and networks focused on building power with women, girls, and trans people, especially in the Global South. They ground their work in mutual trust, respect, and collaboration.

Barbara Schlifer Commemorative Clinic

The Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic offers legal, counselling and interpretation services to marginalized and racialized populations of women who have survived violence.

Fora Network for Change

Fora (formerly G(irls)20), delivers programs and opportunities that prepare the next generation of leaders to amplify their voices in decision-making spaces.  Through renowned leadership, advocacy, and community-building programs including Rise on Boards (formerly Girls on Boards) and the Global Summit, Fora helps young trailblazers gain new skills, confidence, supportive networks, and opportunities to build gender equity movements, advance in their career trajectories and change the status quo. 

New Circles

New Circles Community Services is a not-for-profit, grass-roots agency that builds strong and caring communities by providing clothing and skills training programs to equity-deserving individuals.

How We Grant

We currently operate our grantmaking process by selecting organizations that align with the Foundation’s mission. We extend invitations directly to prospective grantees with a qualifying program, project, or initiative.
